What are LED's?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. They are
solid state semiconductor diodes that emit color coded light. An epoxy
resin is used to encapsulate the semiconductor, using a lens to further
focuse the light.
What makes LED's so special?
Tough:Â As LED's have no
glass or filaments to break, they are exceedingly impact resistant,
making them much more durable than other light sources.
Environmentally Friendly:Â
Because LED's are so energy efficient, have such a long life, rarely
break and are pretty much maintenance free, they are more
environmentally friendly than most other light sources.
Energy Efficiency:Â LED's
require a small portion of power to operate compared to other
traditional light sources, making them much more affordable to operate
because of their small demand for battery power to produce light.
Dependable: Our LED has a
lifespan of approximately 50,000 hours of use and is exceedingly
resistant to vibration and shock. The LED can also withstand
temperature from minus 40 to plus 50 degrees Celsius.

Why does LED light not appear as bright as a flashlight?
The easy, soft light of an LED essentially
imitates the effect of daylight. You get a teal colored light that is
easier on the eyes, which helps you look into the dark with a
concentrated stream of light. The light beam of a standard flashlight actually erases out what you are trying to look at.
LED vs. Others
Just about all standard flashlights use a
filament bulb (Xenon, Halogen, etc.). Filament bulbs create light by
heating the tiny wire inside the glass. The battery current passing
through the wire emits only some of the current in the light, emitting
the rest as heat. The exhaustion of heating and cooling of the wire
gives the bulb a short life. In contrast, because LED's use programmed
current to illuminate, they have nothing to exhaust. This means LED's
